Today, manufacturers produce two types of jet boards, namely electric jet boards and gas-powered jet boards. The former runs on batteries, while the latter uses fuel as its working energy source. Which surfboard to choose—Electric Surfboard or Gasoline Surfboard?.

For gasoline surfboards, the duration, or distance, depends on the capacity of the fuel tank. The greater its capacity, the further it can travel without refueling. The average travel time on an electric jet board is 30-40 minutes. The average driving time for petrol models at mixed speeds is around 40-50 minutes, or 10-20 kilometers. In both cases, the trip duration can be increased: in the former by replacing the battery, in the latter by refueling.
Safety: Almost all modern jet surfboards are equipped with safety systems. The most basic thing a manufacturer can do is release the shell in the most stable form possible. The more expensive the board, the more secure it tends to be, which is critical for both categories. For example, jet surfing can stop itself when the control panel is removed or the rider falls into the water. Of these two categories, the most common control option is the controller, which can be divided into wired and wireless. A wired controller changes speed and can also stop and start the engine. Wireless consoles often have screens that display battery level and other important parameters. This solution is popular among electric models, such as the JetFlyBoard.
